To no one’s surprise, the rise and popularity of podcasts continues to climb. Podcasts are an effective audio medium because they are literally the relevant conversations being spoken into a listener’s ears, often through the closed-off intimacy of personal headphones. This makes for an incredibly personal and salient one-way method of communication. Podcasts are created in an episodic format so listeners can subscribe and be alerted of new releases that are delivered to them automatically. Additionally, listeners also have the power to consume podcasts at their own pace, on-the-go, and whenever they want. We are seeing (and hearing) more podcast content rise up around financial service topics which is very exciting, so in honor of financial podcasts everywhere, we’ve parsed some interesting stats that underscore the relevance and popularity of podcasts.
