Protecting PII and Sensitive Data in HubSpot: A New Feature for Enterprise Users

In today’s digital age, the protection of sensitive data is paramount, particularly for financial firms and security-minded companies. HubSpot has introduced a new feature to address this need, allowing users to store and manage highly sensitive information within their CRM.

At HubSpot’s Inbound 24, I had a quick chat with Rachel Webb, Project Manager at HubSpot, and she shared insights about the new highly sensitive data protection feature.

“With our new highly sensitive data protection feature, you can now store information like social security numbers and full bank account numbers in your CRM. This information is encrypted and includes a ‘click to decrypt’ feature, where users must click to view the value,” Webb told me.

Additionally Webb added, “You can control who sees the data using users and teams with our existing field-level permissions feature. Additionally, every time someone clicks to view the data, it is recorded in the audit logs. This ensures you have a clear view of who is accessing the data.”
