In 1998, prior to starting Gate 39 Media, I was the second web developer hired by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (now the CME Group).
I moved on to a “dotcom” in 2001 which subsequently downsized, so I began building websites, applications, and marketing solutions as a contractor. My initial clients hailed from the financial industry along with numerous international manufacturing firms, most being US-based Japanese firms.
In choosing a name for my new business, I wanted one that expressed a global theme, movement, and positive energy. I came up with “gate” as the keyword, and “media” for our traditional and electronic marketing as well as advanced technology solutions.
The number 39 comes from the race cars my dad and brother used to race on Friday nights on the local quarter-mile paved speedway in my hometown. With “Gate 39 Media” I was able to convey the theme, pay tribute to my family, and highlight the diversity of services we provide.
Over time our focus shifted to the financial industry, which we’ve specialized in serving since 2008.
Today, our clients range from one-person advisors, brokers, and investment managers to global exchanges, clearing firms, funds, and service providers. By offering service to firms of all sizes, we’ve learned what it takes to run and grow a financial services business and have the knowledge and expertise to provide effective marketing and technology solutions.
I look forward to learning about your business and adding you to the list of delighted clients whose branding and bottom lines we’ve helped improve. Let us show you why we have earned our reputation.
